David L. Wolper's "THE BRIDGE AT REMAGEN"

Between takes of David L. Wolper's "THE BRIDGE AT REMAGEN" on location at Castel Gandolfo, Italy, George ("Snoopy") Segal, rearseat right, fellow actor Matt Clark, next to him, and chauffeur Ben Gazzara take a little spin in a 1926 Fiat.Messrs. Segal, Gazzara and Clark play, respectively, a lieutenant,sergeant and corporal in an armored infantry platoon that spearheads the historic first crossing of the Rhine in World War II.But making a war film is no joyride, especially "Remagen" which had
been filming in Czechoslovakia for nearly three months and had only a month to go when the Russian invasion took place.Two days after the invasion, Segal, Gazzara, Clark, co-stars Robert Vaughn and Bradford Dillman and 70 other members of the American film crew were evacuated from Prague by taxi caravan across the Austrian border.
